Aesthetic table runner for round table - “Luminaries of Bolnisi”

The Tale:

We’ve created this Esquisse by emulating the decors of Church "Sioni of Bolnisi", V century. As it turns out, four-pointed, linear, or leaf resembling cross-like figures were called “stars” in the mountains. It should be noted, that these forms have symbolized minor luminaries of the skies, since they were located on the peripheral parts of the composition, in relation to the „Borjghali“, the symbol of the Sun, on the main pillar. It is theorized, that the four-pointed flower would take astral meaning and would usually be depicted on the body of the chosen animal or person.

How We Make It:

• The round table runners crafting technique relate to traditional hand block printing, using wooden or linoleum blocks.

Characteristics, Cleaning and Care:

• Fabric materials: 65% cotton 35% polyester
• Size: 175 x 40 cm (69 x 15.7 in)
• The table runner for round table material, being made mostly by cotton, does not absorb the liquids easily, therefore permanent stains can be avoided very simply, if shaken soon after the liquid is poured on it.
•  Use a washing machine with a gentle cycle at 30°C/86°F. Avoid bleach or detergents containing bleach. Tumble dry on low heat and iron if necessary from the reverse side.
