“Khevsurian” - Hand block printed colorful holiday table runner

The Tale:

Khevsurians have managed to retain the ancient national dress, “Talavari”, up to the modern days. It refers to both men’s and women’s dress. The linen cloth was immaculately embroidered with colorful crosses. As it turns out, every ornament had its own name. For our Esquisses, we have chosen “Dagrekhila” (Twisted), “Khata”, and “Dakbiluli” (Toothed).

How We Make It:

• The holiday table runners crafting technique relates to traditional hand block printing, using wooden or linoleum blocks.

Characteristics, Cleaning and Care:

• Materials: 65% cotton 35% polyester
• Size: 175 x 40 cm (69 x 15.7 in)
• The ivory table runner material, being made mostly by cotton, does not absorb the liquids easily, therefore permanent stains can be avoided very simply, if shaken soon after the liquid is poured on it.
• Wash colorful table runner in the washing machine at 30°C /86°F on a soft and short washing program. Do not use bleach or detergents containing bleach. Tumble dry low. Hot ironing if necessary.
